What does a day at a business magazine look like?
Ron and Martin set off around half past seven by car, and since Ron lives in Almere himself, he's at the office in no time. Once there, they start by looking back and looking ahead together, computer on, coffee poured, working through the inbox. A lot of questions come in, they say. After that comes telephone acquisition and a chat with colleagues about how they'll tackle the day.
What's the best part of this work?
The contacts. Visiting entrepreneurs, from a small business to a multinational, and having conversations that are different every day and take place at all sorts of levels. It always comes back to the same thing, finding ways to make the connection between the customer and the reader.
Company portrait
BC1® gives entrepreneurs the chance to introduce themselves, for instance by showing in a company portrait how the work is done within their business. What are the key things that get special attention? Where do you want to go as a company, and how do you want customers to see you?
This is an example of what such a portrait might look like
Business magazine Almere Zaken
Almere Zaken is the business magazine for enterprising Almere, a city in the Netherlands just east of Amsterdam. Its publishers, Ron Broertjes and Martin van Feggelen, place great value on quality, and that's something they want the magazine to reflect.
The magazine comes out six times a year with a print run of 13,000 copies. Each copy is personalised and delivered through Post.NL, the Dutch postal service.
