LEF® an innovative and sustainable means of transportation

Erik Vegt and Dave Goudeket from EV Mobility have developed an innovative and sustainable means of transportation. Their passion for innovation and technology, combined with the desire to create a sustainable vehicle, has resulted in the LEF®. “It was really a gap in the market for us,” says Dave. The goal was to create a covered vehicle for one person that allows for affordable transportation while minimizing environmental impact.

The Max Verstappen feeling

The result is impressive, the LEF® is a striking vehicle with meticulous attention to detail in its design. “People often tell us they get a ‘Max Verstappen feeling’ when they step into the LEF®,” says Erik Vegt. This is partly due to its design and seating position, further enhanced by the bold, custom-designed racing steering wheel used to control the LEF®.

De LEF® is gemaakt van recyclebaar polyethyleen in verschillende kleuren.Recyclable polyethylene

A notable feature of the LEF® is its body, made from recyclable polyethylene available in various colors. It’s worth mentioning that no paint is used, as this would unnecessarily burden the environment. Additionally, the LEF® has no steel frame, which would make it heavier and increase energy consumption. Charging is simple and can be done using a standard 220 V outlet, eliminating the need for charging stations or other specialized equipment.

The LEF® comes standard with cruise control, a USB charger, and a phone holder. Initially offered as optional accessories, the USB charger and phone holder have become standard features since everyone opts for them. Additionally, the LEF® can be equipped with a handle on the front fork, making it easier to manoeuver when parking.

Legal regulations

The LEF® has been approved by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management in the Netherlands and can be operated from the age of 16. However, it is subject to mandatory insurance. You can choose between third-party liability (WA) insurance for a small annual fee or an all-risk insurance plan, which costs just over 200 euros per year.
De LEF® is een overdekt, duurzaam vervoermiddel voor één persoon dat het milieu zo min mogelijk belast.

What is an electric vehicle for one person?
The LEF is a fully covered, 100% electric vehicle for 1 person, designed to be as affordable as possible for as many people as possible. The idea is actually 25 years old and originated from the world of electric wheelchairs, where a prototype was once built from an old wheelchair.
Do you need a driver's license for a small electric vehicle?
No, you do not need a driver's license. There is a minimum age of 16, and beyond that anyone mobile enough to step in is allowed to drive it. The vehicle is officially admitted on Dutch public roads, approved by the Ministry of I&M under the classification of a "designated moped" (aangewezen bromfiets).
How far can you go on one battery charge?
There is a choice of a 10 Ah, 20 Ah or 30 Ah battery pack, which is always split in two so you have a reserve, giving a range of 30, 60 and 90 km respectively. Very soon there will probably be a battery that lets you drive 300 km.
